You'd have to be living under a rock if you haven't heard anything about Roseanne Barr's controversial tweet about Valerie Jarrett (most of you were probably like, "who the heck is Valerie Jarret??").

Now free speech supporters have been having a battle on the left and the right. The problem with that argument is that the 2nd amendment only protects your right to say whatever you want from the government, it doesn't protect you from the consequences of the stupid stuff you say. You make racist comments at work, you can get fired and that was ABC's right. My question is how could they have not know about how Roseanne? She's crass, rude and sarcastic and makes fun of EVERYONE! That's why most people who like her comedy were excited to see the reboot of the show.
Roseanne is a comedian. If Roseanne had said this at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, she would be a hero. Ah, I take it back. It would… No, she wouldn’t, ’cause it’s about Obama. (interruption) Yeah. Wanda Sykes can hope that I get some disease and die and be applauded for it and get big laughs at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. You get the hypocrisy here? (interruption) Uh, well, Joy Behar’s had her share of anti-Christian remarks? I mean, making comments about Christian people being, you know, reprobates. - Rush Limbaugh
Now I do think that her remarks were a little over the top, but most comedians are that way. They're always looking to get a rise out of their audience. But the big problem I have is not so much the comments but as always the media's reaction to it. The media is mostly liberally biased and they always claim to have the moral high ground and look down their noses when things like this happen. All the while completely ignoring their own hypocrisy.
Wanda Sykes (who constantly makes white people the butt of her jokes) made her own money joke about President Trump:
Now I understand the historical connotation of the ape-black jokes, it goes back a long way. But all I heard during the Obama presidency was how "the office of the president should be held to a higher standard" ANY time someone dared to criticize, let alone make fun of him. And it was hands off his family, funny how that rule has gone right out the door:
Does Roseanne deserve to be fired? Probably. It stinks, because her show is super funny, but when you cross the line there are consequences. Although it seems that consequences are only for conservatives or Trump supporters, not people like Joy Behar who recently compared Christianity to a mental illness among other vile and hateful things that spew out of her mouth (she still works for ABC). The left has has very little to say about Samantha Bee calling Ivanka Trump a "feckless c*unt" (where are all the outraged feminists??). She apologized, as did Roseanne but she still has her job.
What I also find amusing is how all these people on the cast of Roseanne have very little to say about a woman that they've know for 30 years. And how quickly the ones who did speak out were to throw her under the bus.
Emma Kenny, who plays Darlene and David's daughter on the show, was so quick to leave the show but not that long ago was gushing about how "cool" Roseanne was.
So in the end, we carry on to the next big scandal and the liberal media and left gets away with whatever they want, with no repercussions while they prance around pretending they hold the moral standard.
